On hard it's almost a puzzle game ("how do I navigate this with the least risk?") on easy it's a superhero wish fulfilment game. Play it on +1 difficulty (aka Hard) for maximum risk/ reward or revel in feeling like an unstoppable force of nature while storming through a dungeon on the lower difficulties.īoth feel equally as good. My partner and I played hundreds of hours and are loving the sequel (Frosthaven - which I think might be even better btw) Dozens of evening sharing a bottle (or two) of red wine while navigating the twists and turns of the game. Not much matches playing the board game version Gloomhaven for the first time with a friend (or significant other in my case). With a "completed" tabletop campaign of Gloomhaven, two completed campaigns of (tabletop) Jaws of the Lion, an engrossed ongoing campaign of Frosthaven, I think I'm the target audience of this.
